React Developer (£40‑55k)
Engineering and Product · London Flexible Remote
SearchPilot is a small startup with team members in the UK & US. We've built an innovative web proxy platform to help companies optimise their websites. We're looking for enthusiastic devs to help.
SearchPilot built the first SEO A/B testing platform to come to market, and we are looking to expand our small team of developers to help build the next iteration of our technology.
We are making the process of SEO more data-driven and scientific (SEO is Search Engine Optimisation - helping our customers grow their visibility in Google and other search engines). We are proud to bring real value to the teams and companies using our technology.
A crucial part of our technology stack is our web app, which is where customer teams can configure real time transformations to the HTML content of their web pages. It is the ‘storefront’ of our product.
SearchPilot was spun out of Distilled (now Brainlabs), a global digital marketing agency with offices in Seattle, New York and London.

About the Role
We are looking for a UK-based developer with 2-3 years or more experience working with React. You will be working on the customer facing parts of our platform which will be used by a wide range of customers, from startups through to large enterprises. The backend of the application is written in Django and uses React on the client side. We use Tailwind for our CSS..
The app has a Django backend which communicates with the rest of the platform via APIs to a set of microservices.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the front end of the web app.
You will work closely with the rest of the engineering team and will have input into technology and infrastructure decisions. The engineering team is a small team of five developers, and we enjoy supporting and learning from one another. We will help you get up to speed with our codebase, and support you in learning any new skills you need to excel at your work.
We have an office in central London, but are open to applications from UK-based candidates who wish to work primarily remotely in the UK within reach of occasional travel to London. Once COVID-19 restrictions ease, we will expect remote team members to be in our London office at least once every couple of months.
We believe in the benefits of working remotely, but also value a sense of shared mission and personal community, which benefits from sometimes getting together. If your circumstances don’t perfectly align with this, we are flexible to discussion.
To apply for this role please complete the form below.
We anticipate the interview process will include a short qualification call followed by 2 remote video interviews with different members of the team. We anticipate asking you to complete a short coding exercise as a prerequisite to the second interview.

SearchPilot spun out of Distilled in early 2020, with the whole team becoming part of the new company. At Distilled, the product was called DistilledODN.
At SearchPilot we are passionate about our team, and we want that to be more than just words. We want to continue to build a team of people who can thrive and succeed, as well as feel valued and welcomed, at all levels.
As part of that goal, we are trying hard to actively build a diverse team, as we believe diversity is a necessary component to building the strongest company possible. To this end, one of the steps we have taken is committing to an annual report assessing how we are doing on this front - the first report is now available.
